Mt Rainier & Olympic National Park Photo Tour and Workshops
Join us on a photo tour or workshop at two of America’s most beautiful places Mt Rainier and Olympic National Park. This trip will be led by Professional Nature Photographer and Guide John Slonina.
Mt Rainier National Park
Mount Rainier National Park is a must-see destination. Mount Rainier is the most prominent peak in the Northwest. The park has numerous glaciers, snowfields, wildflower-filled meadows, and pristine old-growth evergreen forests. Our nation’s fifth-oldest national park features magnificent rivers, mountain lakes, waterfalls and wildlife. The park is a photographer’s delight.
At 14,410 feet, and a popular destination for nature photographers. Mt. Rainer is located 50 miles southeast of Seattle, and is also easily accessible from Tacoma and Portland as well (all are under 200 miles away).
We will stay in the Paradise area. This area is world famous for its wildflowers. It has numerous walking trails through wildflower-covered meadows up to snow-covered glaciers. We will also visit Sunrise as it’s the closest you can get to the peak by car and offers great trails and views of Mount Rainier. This is the time of year when wildflowers are at their best.
Olympic National Park
Olympic National Park is three parks in one, containing some of the most beautiful coastal, rain forest, and mountain scenery in the United States It is one of the most diverse national parks found anywhere in the world
We will photograph snowcapped mountains, beautiful rainforest, thundering waterfalls, wildflowers, and magnificent beaches on the Washington coast. The large variety of habitats creates several great opportunities for landscape and wildlife photography.
The options are endless and your senses will never rest.
Best seen during low tide, the Washington Coast’s Olympic beaches give those who make the drive west access to some of the wildest and most beautiful beaches in the world. These beaches are not for sunbathing, but for exploring tide pools, beach combing, walking, and hiking along the Pacific Ocean.
We will photograph some of the big sea stacks along the coast. We will be shooting sunset and staying after dark to shoot the stars and time-lapse photography.

Our group size is limited to six people, which is substantially smaller than other tour companies. This will maximize learning and allow us to get closer to wildlife.
This offers several advantages.
Maximize Learning
Personalized one on one attention, critiques, and photography advice. Both in the field and in the classroom. I want to make sure you get the best shots while we are on location.
Better Access
We get much better access to remote areas than bus tours, day tours and car pools. There are several incredible places which only have room for one or two cars.
We will be traveling in one vehicle. We can access more remote areas and respond quicker to great lighting or wildlife..
